And there's just the place in Stamford at the popular Kouzina Greek Taverna & Bar which is known for their relaxed atmosphere and chill "island" feel.

The owners of Kouzina say the restaurant is inspired by the beach culture of the Greek Island and offers traditional taverna fare with a coastal vibe.

Yelper reviewers seem to agree with the whole concept of Kouzina and provide the restaurant with plenty of five-star reviews.

One Yelper, says the restaurant is "insanely delicious."

"This place is epic - the food is SOOO good. the wraps, the fries, the dips, it's all amazing. Service is good as well - though we ate outside during COVID, so not as easy to grab help if needed, but the staff was super friendly and decently attentive. But really I can't say enough about the food - and what is better than delicious greek food??"

Another said everything was "solid" and the atmosphere just right: "Their Gyros are amazing up there with anything that you would find in Astoria. I also recommend the Gyro eggroll...not something you typically see at other Greek restaurants, but very delicious."

The menu is a variable smorgasbord of Greek Island life with everything from the usual spinach pie to the unusual fillet of Mediterranean sea bass, served over rice and grilled asparagus.

They also offer a pita bar and lots of things served on sticks.

Still another Yelper said their visit was an "amazing experience." "This restaurant is unbelievably cute, you forget where you are and feel like you're on a Greek Island. We sat outside since it was a nice day. The service was good, everything was clean. The food was incredible, every single thing we ordered was perfectly delicious. We had the chicken and pork gyro with fries, tzatziki spread with pita, kolokithokeftedes, revithosalata, fasolakia, and great desserts."

Since most can't jet off to the Greek Isle right now, why not make a stop at Kouzina and soak up the flavor.

The restaurant is located at 223 Main St., in Stamford. Open for lunch and dinner. Prices are moderate.
